Atomic Sunglasses

Before the perils of radiation were fully known (or fully revealed),
these very dark plastic sunglasses were the only special protection
issued to US and CS troops sent into nuclear bomb test sites to test the
effects.  While most of these unfortunate soldiers died of the lasting
effects of the blasts, some seemed to actually be protected by their
Army-issued shades.  Over the years, some pairs of these glasses have
survived.

Powers: Anyone wearing these glasses gets +4 to any Vigor rolls to resist
the effects of radiation.  Also, the wearer gains AV 1 against any
radiation-based damaging effects such as Atomic Blast or Nuke.

Taint:  The owner of these glasses becomes extremely gullible and is
likely to trust all the wrong people.  All rolls to resist Bluff or
Persuasion suffer a -4 penalty.  If the rolls are being made to resist
anyone with any level of military Rank, the penalty goes up to -6.  These
effects last for about a week after the last time a character takes them
off.  In addition, the glasses are extremely dark, to better protect
against lethal emissions.  All visual Cognition-based rolls made while
wearing them suffer a -2 penalty (this effect only lasts until the
glasses are removed).
