[HOE] Martial Arts extras
Just finished reading Waste Warriors Martial Arts section and I found a
few things that might be added. Please comment freely, thou most of the
edges are renamed versions of other abilities.
Your Fu is Strong: 1-5
This edge adds +1 strain per level.
More Training: 2
1 extra Chi power. May be bought several times but no more then 1/2 your
Knowledge Die type
Blood of the Dragon: 3
No this edge does not let your brainer turn into a dragon or live forever
or something silly like that, What it does is speed up the rate at which she
recover's Strain. Recovery of strain takes place in half the time as normal
(ie 1pt per half hour). This is combinable with meditation.
New Edges (comments welcome)
Iron Fist: 3
Your waster has learned how to hit harder then others either intensive
training or just smaking the hardest object they can find. This edge adds +2
damage to unarmed damage (both punch and kick) but there is a -2 to all
deftness rolls that involve fine manipulation.
Iron Shirt: 3 possible pre req of Martial Arts training
Your waster has learned how to take hits that would really hurt others at
the cost of lower sensitivity. This edge gives -2 light armor and a -2 to
all touch based cognition rolls.
Body of Iron: 3 pre req: Iron Fist, Iron Shirt and Martial Arts training
You have mastered the arts of Chi Gung and all of the advantages that go
with it. Add +1d4 to unamed damage and add -2 Light armor (cumulative with
Iron Shirt). But lower Deftness by 1 level and reduce all touch based
cognition rolls by another -2 (total -4).
Not sure if these are balanced but one of the posse wanted a Martial
Artist who did not have alot of true Chi powers.
Now a question; why does meditation for Martial Artist's work differently
then for Sykers? Sykers get 1pt per 1/2 hour while Enlightened get 2 pts per
Hour. Ok it seems a little strange so I figured I would ask.
Finally a new Chi Power
No Pain no Gain
TN: 5
Strain: 0
Target: Self
Speed: 1 action
This power lets you draw extra strain at the cost of personal injury.
Activating this power successfully does 1 wound to the guts but you gain 1
strain +1 per raise on the roll to a maximum of your chi ability.
