[HOE] [HoE] Sykoactive vs. Regular Battlesuit Helmets
This should be a relatively easy thing to come up with (and I'll just
make a house rule if need be), but I'd like to get some other opinions.
Under the Sykoactive helmet description in WW, it states that "ordinary
helmets often interfered with Syker abilities...". However, I can't
find anything anywhere saying how to handle this interference with an
ordinary helmet. This has been a topic on the list before, originally
stemming from the great "can or cannot Sykers wear helmets" debacle that
came about based on all illustrations showing Sykers sans helmets
(though how anyone could tell if a Syker wearing a helmet and not using
powers was a Syker anyway is beyond me, but I digress...). I don't think
there was ever an "official" ruling on the issue (couldn't find one in
the accumulated rulings). That's apparently moot now anyway with the
introduction of WW. However - based on the description of the Sykoactive
helmet (that lets powers through, apparently while possibly weakening
the helmet structure), what would the effect of wearing a ordinary
helmet have on Syker powers? Would the Syker fry him/herself? Would
the helmet explode/degrade? Would there just be some sort of negative
modifier toward using a power? Would powers just not work at all?
"Often causing interference" doesn't mean "always", which implies that
ordinary helmets could be still used as an option. Thoughts?
