[HOE] Waste Warriors questions (SPOILERS: Go away Bob Fletcher!)
Well the first two aren't really a spoiler, but questions and
clarrifications:
Soldier: Project Damocles
- the book says you get to add three to all the troopers starting special
forces skills. Does that mean that, for example, the Special Forces's
shootin skill of 3 becomes 6 for a damocles? That's what it sounds like,
but it isn't refelcted in the archetype.
- can a damocles take rank and get the double belongin's (above his
starting of 5)? I'm assuming so.
Syker-Fu v2.0
- by my thinking enlightened should be allowed to become syker:greenies.
Any thoughts?

HoE):
Jade Dragon of Bruce Lee:
Bruce Lee was no doubt one of the greatest and most famous martial
artists of all time. He performed legendary feats that both impressed and
baffled the Agency and Texas Rangers alike. The only thing even more
amazing was the way he flaunted his abilities in movies despite the two
group's best efforts.
Several times both groups tried to quite him in various ways. But
his incredible skill combined with his amazing popularity prevented them
from ever succeeding.
It's said that this pendant was a good luck charm of his, whether
that is true, or it was merely a favored piece of art is unknown. However
what is known is that the jad dragon pendant has inherited some of Lee's
amazing powers.
The pendant is a small (2 inches across) circle with a coiled
dragon inside it. The dragon is made of purest green jade while the outer
circle is made of cold-forged iron (to contain the dragon's power, as the
legend goes)
Powers:
The hombre that wears this pendant around his neck inherits some
of Lee's incredible speed. He gains a +4 to all quickness rolls.
(I'm also thinking of giving it something a kin to the devestating
ape strike ability, if the user is an enlightened with the power already
then he gets +4 to his ch'i roll for that power. If he doesn't have the
power or isn't an enlightened then he simply gains the use of this power.
If he isn't enlightened then the power costs 1 wind per use. Any wind
spent in this way can only be recovered like strain (resting for 1 hour
gets 1 wind back). Finally if the wearer is not enlightened he substitutes
a spirit roll for the ch't roll)
Taint:
Lee was a small man, and so will be the wearer of the pendant. The
wearer automatically gains the scrawny edge. At first there is no physical
change, but over the course of a week to a month (marshal's call) the
char. does actually shrink about 6". Close possesions (clothes, shoes,
etc.) shrink with him, but weapons and such do not. Needless to say this
is a little disconcerting.
Characters who are already scrawny do not suffer from this taint
(I'm not going to make them size 4)
Lee had tremendous power in his body, and spent years in training
to control it. Most normal people have a hard time containing all that
energy. If the wearer of the medallion is not a enlightened then he
suffers from the "Cup Overflows" hinderance whenever he makes a
bare-handed (footed, whatever, attack)
Finally Lee was plagued throughout his life by people wanting to
challenge him (not believing everything they saw in the movies). The
wearer finds himself constantly challenged to fights by bullies, black
hats and the like. If someone in town is looking to pick a fight, they
don't have to look any further. Generally for a non-enlightened this
should occur once every few sessions. If the character is enlightened (and
therefore slinging fu left-and-right) then there is an almost non-stop
stream of challenges (especially right after fightes, where the char. is
most likely wounded and low on strain). He should get challenged at least
once a session, generally.
Thoughts?
