Hmm... you could always use my method for keeping them out of the Marshal
section: get players who can't be convinced to read *comic books*, let alone
quality literature such as Deadlands.

Of my four players, two I've never known to read what they don't need to. One
used to play an online text-base game with me back in the day {anyone else
remember IBGames' Federation?}, and a fourth read two Harry Turtledove books I
gave him, but not any HoE books I left at his house for a month while I was in
Spain.
