[HOE] M-2011A damage

Have the stats for the Dixie Arms M-2011A .60 Magnum pistol (from Cyborgs) been
errataed anywhere? The book says it does 3d8 damage with a range increment of
20; the high range could be explained by the velocity of the round, but 3d8
damage is less powerful on average than a .44 Magnum (4d6), so that can't be
right. At least 4d8, maybe 5d8, would be better; 5d6 or 6d6 would keep it in the
d6's like most pistols.

I've noticed this phenomenon in several places; many writers seem to be under
the impression that a higher die type *always* does more damage than a lower die
with higher coordination, which isn't the case with the way damage is rolled.
The oh-so-badass 2d12 railgun in The Wasted West actually does less average
damage than a 4d6 heavy pistol, let alone standard rifle rounds, and the 4d12
.20mm round in the same book is less powerful than the (smaller) 5d10 .50 cal
round. Almost all d12 weapons make more sense if the coordination increases by
1.

I'm rambling now, so I think I'll just send this and get back to work.
