RE: [HOE] Anywhere but here
I've been thinking about this for some time now and there is a lot of room
for some real fun in the UK, as it's a smaller country we would've probably
got organized and managed to start a good proper war again, I was thinking a
civil was again, the royals and the church versus a democratic group of
anti-royals, if any of you have read "The Adventures of Luthor Arkwright"
you might see what I'm getting at, other nice ideas,
Druids - Probably quite similar to shaman and closely linked to ley lines.
SUS (Special Undead Service) their base in Hereford would have a been
completely totaled by ICBM's but I'm sure they had back-ups and most would
have been out anyway.
Dark Fey - Loads and loads of them linked in with the henges which are gates
to hunting grounds, Terry Pratchett covered this sort of idea quite nicely
in Lords and Ladies.
Merry Hill(Hell)- Shopping from hell in the Black Country.
I can imagine the Black Country/Birmingham being alot like the Junkyard
pre-war so I think it should have the token surviving large settlement in
the middle of the country.
Guns would be much harder to get hold of what with our apparantly
"ludicrous" gun-laws (Thank you for that startling insight Mr. Heston)
A Welsh Dragon might be fun, perhaps they get a red variant of the maze
dragon off the welsh coast.
Add to these the fun you could have exploring the London Underground, a
significant number of ghost stories which go back years, undead policemen
whose heads go all the way to the top of their helmets, small baronies
setting up in all the old castles. Skipping back to my earlier black country
settlement thing, it could be based in Dudley Castle/Zoo and they've managed
to keep some of the more useful animals from the zoo alive and use them for
fighting/transport. Base the king of the castle (so to speak)on Noddy
Holder.
DEMONIC BALTI'S
Wales could have a high number of played out Ghost Rock Mines and the North
Sea still has the big go-juice platforms.
If I only had more time you'd hear much more about this. Sorry I've wittered
enough, I should be going, hope the yanks have a nice thanksgiving and find
out who their President is before Christmas, for your benefit you might like
to know that George Jnr. is being referred to as Dubyah Bush in the captions
in the news bullitens of our silliest breakfast show. It kind of tickled me.
Take care all.

Hmm. I think it was meant as in just *America* east of the missasipi
(sp?), and thats how I'm going to take it, damn it....
chunnel...wow, I hadn't though of that. Perfect for Croakers, Wormlings
*and* scavs, oh my! perhaps they are building an invasion force, too, and
will soon sweep out into decimated france and UK..... unless a heroic
possee can blow up the entrances.... hhmmmm
wait..Uk and France working together? it MUST be the end of the world!
(joking, joking)
