[HOE] The Librarian's Almanac for October 23rd

NEAR BEAUMONT, TEXAS- a trader caravan from Texarkana arrives on its last
legs. On a routine pass around the Dallas-Fort Worth maelstroms; individuals
wearing clothes that resembled pre-war Haz-Mat suits attacked the caravan.
Out of the three trucks and twenty-five guards only one vehicle arrived in
Near Beaumont with four survivors. The guards swear that the masked
attackers had fully automatic weaponry and heavily outgunned the caravan
members. The trader baron is offering a substantial reward for anyone that
can clear up the matter.

SANTA FE FORTRESS, NEW MEXICO- The town is offering good-sized lots in a
number of reclaimed storage units for wasters to store non-perishables.
Doomsayers needing to store radioactives will have to look elsewhere,
unfortunately. In payment, a waster will be contracted to a three-day stint
on guard duty of the town and watchman duty on the storage lots. Any waster
that does not show up to put in their contracted time will forfeit their
stored goodies and the materials will become the property of the Fortress
town. The New Bank of Santa Fe is declared open for business.

STRATFORD TOWNSHIP, TEXAS- A waster named Rivets Muldoon logs a report of a
jerry-rigged Blimp sighted in the skies over the southern Panhandle. On
either side of the monstrosity was painted a large multicolored Doomsayer
sigil. There was no word on who was piloting the craft and no Doomsayers
could be reached for comment.

OLD MESILLA FORTRESS, NEW MEXICO- Reports reach the Law Dogs of a new
warlord running rampant across New Mexico and Texas. A force of thirty armed
wasters led by a mammoth specimen calling himself Rictus have hit three
small settlements. The gang has taken food, ammunition and small machine
parts thus far. Resident Law Dogs Gary Jefferson and Christie Zimmers are
placing a two hundred round reward for the folks that can offer up any
information on the warlord and his crew.
