Okay, so I run a Deadlands campaign. We recently "reset" the campaign and
started out with new players. Well in my world there has already been some
time-travel (the posse went to HoE for a stint and came back with a
syker).
One of the premises in my campaign is that there is this stuff called
Temporal Energy (TE) that flows through everything (I actually stole the
idea from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game). The further back in time
you go the stronger the TE, but like water coming out of a hose the longer
you from the source the weaker the flow. This explains why things wearout
over time, the TE erodes them away.
One effect of this TE is that things that are jumped forward in time (from
DL to HoE) become stronger, tougher, shinier, whatever. Things that move
backwards become weaker and more prone to malfunction. This only effects
inanimate objects.
The nice side effect is that I never have to worry for too long about
someone bringing and assault rifle or junk-gun back in time and taking
over the west. Eventually it will just fall apart.

Anyway, when we reset the campaign Bob decided to play a gunslinger from
HoE that somehow got thrown back in time to DL. In the process he lost
most of his memory. Now he is kinda wandering, trying to figure out
where/who he is and such. Every now and then he has memory flashes with
insanely painful headaches.
All of his equipment fell apart BTW (cause of TE) except for his two .44
automatics. What I decided was that the guns are made from Ghost Steel and
ghost steel is immune to TE (as it is infused with souls, and hence not
trully inanimate).

So I have free reign to figure out why/how he got back in time, why he has
GS guns and why he has headaches. So this is what I came up with:
He was actually a Red Hat in Throckmorton's army. Throck discovered
technology in Denver to send someone back in time, but it is hideously
expensive and he can only do it once. He chose Bob's character Tycho to go
back and gave him the guns. What Tycho doesn't know (cause of the amnesia)
is that mounted on the guns are the components necessary to make a bomb.

See Throck wants to finally take over and has decided that rather than
trying to fight Junkyard now, he will just destroy it in the past so it
won't be in his way now.

So here's the question, what would Throck target? At first I thought
Hellstromme, but Hellstromme built the factory that Throck is in now,
right? Smith and Robards? The mormons? Maybe Tycho is just supposed to
plant the bomb and it is supposed to go off later.
Without giving away any big HoE secrets (Bob runs our HoE campaign) can
anyone give me any guidance or suggstions?
