Ryan Dancey said that they were seriously looking into a Western/Fantasy
type game when PEG beat them by releasing Deadlands about a year or so
before they could get their own game off the ground. After watching how
successful Deadlands was, I think Ryan has sworn off trying to do a western
style game. Judging by what has happened to TSR/WotC's other systems, most
notably Gamma World, I very seriously doubt we'll ever see any incarnation
of Boot Hill ever again.
