Can we please... remember that there are folks who subscribe to the digest 
version of the listserv and that they are entitled to courtesy as well.

One facet of that courtesy is to refrain from quoting the entire post that 
you are referring to.  Especially if it is just a "me too" type of 
response.  This and excessively long spoiler space warnings just tend to be 
unnecessary length added to the digest versions.

It is perfectly acceptable to use
<snip>  or to be more DL'ish - <blam> to remove the unneeded parts of the 
previous message.

For example - say that someone has put three ideas into their post, and you 
just want to reply to the first and third ideas.

 >
 >
 >Idea 1 ends

Your reply

<snip out idea 2>

 >Idea 3
 >
 >
 > Idea 3 ends

Your reply.

This maintains the flow of the conversation, without resending huge blocks 
of text that you don't need to.
