Haul syndrome. I just read Bio Dome 2 in the Epitath #2, and the salvage
material available is quite impressive.

Okay, since I was the editor, I can explain. The confusion here is my fault.

The salvage material table is supposed to be a separate, but related, bit of
info--sort of like the hex at the end of the fiction bit. It's not really
part of the adventure, but if you decide to keep the posse in the area after
the Bio-Dome adventure, odds are they're going to want to start digging in
the ruins of Phoenix--which have a rep for being full of nifty military
hardware. I asked Hopler to write the table up to give Marshals some ideas
were that to happen.

Since the adventure takes the players along the _outskirts_ of the
battlefield and not deep into it, the table really doesn't come into play in
Bio-Dome 2.

Why didn't the table mention all of this?

Good question with a simple answer: There wasn't room. I tried to cram
everything I could into the Epitaph, and plain and simple, couldn't fit
another word into that table, much less a detailed description. There's a
lot of new toys listed on there and it took space to explain it.

Is it too Monty Haul? That's a Marshal's call. Since John wrote it, it's
what he feels should be in the area--but that doesn't mean it's what's right
for a given campaign. I think it's in line with what's hinted at on pages
99-100 in the Wasted West, personally; Phoneix is a special case, filled
with hardware not normally found laying on the ground. There's a
reason--scroungers usually don't live long enough in the area to drag it
out. ;-)

Don't forget--the heroes don't get to just walk out into the battlefield and
pick the stuff up. See page 99 of the Wasted West for a brief rundown on
what they're facing if Bio-Dome doesn't give you any ideas. ;-)

Hope that helps a little,
