Hang on here...
Shadowrun is not the end-all be all of either mdoern samurai-type
behavior or cyberpunkish atmosphere.  Ghost Dog was effectively (quite
literally) about a street samurai, and the Matrix had VR in it (and the
word Matrix), but the key words for Shadowrun have always been (in my
book at least) "Damn silly."  It would be far more appropriate to say
that the writers of the MAtrix were reading William Gibson novels and
that the makers of Ronin were reading "The Art of War"
(speaking of Damn Silly, has anyone seen the previews for that movie?)
