We've never stated it, but if successful, that makes perfect sense. IOW,
yes, it does in my campaigns.

Someone's already stated it, but what I use is a single action and Foolproof
(3) medicine TN. Each success and raise lets the hero treating the wound
stop 1 point of Wind loss. For Serious wounds, that means only a single
success; for a Maimed, it takes either a 13 on the dice or multiple attempts
(and actions).

When you're talking wounds of Serious or worse level to multiple hit
locations, I require a roll for each hit location, just as if the sawbones
was attempting to actually heal the wound.
