I say no. The reason behind this is the borg looses everything in the torso
already (says so in the book...guts, lungs, all that is yanked out) so what
more is there to loose? After all, isn't that what spirit loss is
reflecting, natural parts being replaced by mechanical ones?
Having replacements remove the SL of borg parts to that particular area
would also answer the questions of how something could be completely
cybernetic and still have a d6 or maby a d8 in spirit. It makes sense to
me.

I agree with this completely and it should have been stated in the Cyborgs
book. The same goes for cyber arms and legs (but not skull since the eyes and
brain are still in the way). This means that a deader with a 4d12 Spirit who
opted for a full body replacement would lose 13 dice and end up at 3d6, but
he could implant stuff throughout his body (except head0 without worrying
about further Spirit loss.
