well we only changed track pads if they were "chunked" ... I think that
we changed a few pads each year, we also had to change track shoes when
they were worn (there is a gauge that you use to tell if they are worn)
I will say that track pads are not necessary to the operation of the
vehicle, infact the real reason that they are used is to protect the
roads and other paved surfaces
