Re: [HOE] fightin': florentine (Hopler?)
Well Theo,
Just call me a generous marshal, but I'd suggest that even though it is
one attack, try to picture it as something like burst-fire. In burst fire,
you get an additional hit for every raise you get. Each attack has it's
damage figured separately. Therefore, the attacks have their damages rolled
and totalled by themselves. On the other hand, I require that someone using
Florentine, must declare before their attack, their intention, and they
don't get to use the raise used for their extra attack on their location
roll....plus, I make them roll two different locations, splitting additional
raises between the two. No double head shots every other freakin' attack
for this marshal. :) Just my two cents on that........
Also, as to your query on the fightin' skills. Go back through and
read your character generation some more. It only costs someone 1-5 points
to pick up an "aptitude" (ie. fightin', shootin', etc.) and one
"concentration" (ie. sword, club, pistols, smgs, etc.). If a player wants,
they may buy additional "concentrations" for a cost of 3 more per
"concentration", which is gained at the level of your "aptitude".
Florentine, doesn't require you to buy, "aptitude" levels per se, so much as
it requires you already have a fightin' "aptitude", and are willing to cough
up the extra 3 points for the additional "concentration". Does that make
sense to you, pardner? If it doesn't, grab your HoE book, and read up on
buyin' aptitudes and concentrations.
