I don't know how it works vis a vis Spirit Warriors, but the issue Samedi is
referring to is that a Templar can use Deflection (not Greater Reward)
against a Nuke thrown "at" him, but not one targeted at, say, the ground six
inches from his feet.
I don't know how Spirit Warriors handles it, but presumbly it applies some
kind of penalty to the Shaman to be hit "directly" by a Nuke. _If_ that's
the case, then the Shaman wouldn't get the defense against the Nuke if it
was targeted near him.
An ICBM works the same way. You can throw it on someone, or near someone.
There seems to be no rule-type reason (and thus, no "real-life" in-character
reason either) for a semi-experienced user to throw such an attack directly
at a person.
