Re: [HoE] Spirit Warriors Stuff(Goff/Hopler)

Picked them both up on Monday morning here in Chattanooga. I don't tend to
say much about the CC's, mainly becase they are, in my humble, good gaming
aids, but essentially in the "Either Ya Likes 'Em Or Ya Don't" catagory.

Spirit Warriors is pretty good. No worries about spoilers, as I am
verboten from reading Marshal's Sections in HOE products. Loved the cover
art. It has some good reading in the Possee Territory.....answered some
questions I've had since day one in HOE..... I noticed that they stayed away
from specific dates...or even really a narrowing down, but that could have
many different reasons. Lots of stuff on the "fates" of the Sioux
Nations, the Coyote Confederation, and the Apache (nope....ya DON'T know the
whole story of their fate...despite Cyborgs!).

Game mechanics-wise, Toxic Shaman are pretty tough character types. But
unlike some of the other "tough character types" (Harrowed, which my personal
bias prevents me from playing, Cyborgs, who are some of my favorites but need
good 'character story' to make them unique), Toxic Shamen are smack in the
middle of 'new' HOE storyline! I wont get into too much specifics, but
they work more like Sykers and Doomsayers (using Strain... one atpitude roll
to invoke, Faith-Toxic Spirits) then the Nature Shaman we're all familier
with. They DO still exist, BTW.

Character-Wise, I really like these guys. I mean...not only do they get
to be involved in a new 'storyline', but they make for interesting character
backgrounds! I made a Radiation Shaman (or Spook as they're called, due
to the method they usually recover Strain....they drink Spook Juice, of
course!) who was an officer in a Southern Alliance missle silo. Long
story short..... he nuked hundreds of thousands out of existence with his
partner. He went the way of the 'Caretakers' (Spooks that clean up the
Earth) and his partner went 'Corrupter' (those wanting to finish off the
environment) and wants to nuke the rest of humanity. Good guy resembles
Christian Slater.....bad guy, John Travolta. Good guy (the character) has
taken the name "Broken Arrow". (I can hear it now!)

DO have a question or two for the TPB though.....
1> Can the Toxic Guardian chip powers be used in combination with Favors of
the same general ability (a'la Rad SPirits blue chip power that adds 'nuclear
fire' damage to a weapon) and the Rad Favor Energy Weapon?

2>Mutate Favor - It says that .... "A person can only have this Favor
sucessfully cast on them once. All other attempts automatically fail".
Now does this mean either version (cause mutation AND cure mutation? Or
one can be done THEN the other then that's it? Does it mean THAT Spook or
ANY Spook thereafter? That day? MOnth? Year? Kind of like
'official' word on this one.

Well worth it folks! Gets this book..... I think it has stuff in it
that's gonna rock the HOE world in the future.....AND the Weird West...SOON!
