[HoE] [HoE]New Junker Power
Well, one of my Junker players and I came up with a
new power. I've put it up at my website, and I'm
putting it up here for all to see too. Tell me what
you think.
Irradiate
Associated Spirits: Appliance, Gun
TN: 9
Components:
Chemical: 10%
Electronic: 10%
Mechanical: 10%
Structural: 20%
Drain: 50 GR's / hour
This power is used to irradiate material. It is most
often used to irradiate ammo or ghost rock. A junker
who knows this power is a doomsayers best friend.
Ammo
There are two ways to irradiate ammo. The first being
irradiating currently existing ammo and the second is
creating irradiated material inside the ammo when you
make it.
Irradiating Currently Existing Ammo
This process takes 10% of the total slots of the ammo
and uses the irradiator described below. This causes 1
extra wind damage due to radiation, but has the side
effect on the user of the gun. The victim must make an
Onerous (7) Vigor roll every five minutes or suffer 1
wind as long as the bullets in them. The owner of the
ammo must make Fair (6) Vigor roll for every five
minutes in contact with the ammo or suffer 1 wind. The
shooter can avoid this if they are wearing a full rad
suit.
Irradiating Ammo as You Make It
This process takes 20% of the total slots and is much
safer for your brainer. You must do this when you are
using the ammo power. This causes 1 extra wind damage
and only the guy who gets hit has to make a fair (5)
Vigor roll.
The Irradiating Device
All right I know you've been waiting for this one so
here it is. This is just the device used to create
irradiated material (including ghost rock). Now to
create the Irradiator: First you need yer frame. The
Base slot use is 30% of the frame size plus any space
used to irradiate. This space costs the same as dead
space.
Now the process of the irradiation takes 2 hours +
(ounces / 4) hours. So creating 1 pound would take 6
hours [2 + (16 / 4)]. To find the average weight of a
frame use this equation: [Structural x Load] pounds.
When using the irradiator I highly suggest
using the shield power or you'll have to make an
Onerous (7) Vigor roll even if you are well protected.
Without a rad suit you must make an Incredible (11)
Vigor roll or suffer a minor mutation.
Doomsayers
Ok for every 1 pound of irradiated material a
doomsayer holds his strain is recovered at one half
the normal rate while resting, or at normal rate under
other conditions. This will attract doomsayer's like a
librarian to books.
Radiation Converters (De-radiators)
Another power that can be added to an irradiator is
the power to convert radiation energy into G-rays.
This takes 20% of the total slots to implant. The
energy is converted at the rate of 5 G-rays per hour.
1 pound of fully irradiated material holds 200 GR's of
irradiation; this does not destroy the item. You can
also use the de-radiator when it's open to drain
G-rays from an area that has G-radiation at the rate
of 2 per hour (and I don't think you'll stay in the
area long enough to get rid of the thousands of G-rays
that are there). De-radiating does not cause extra
drain, however when using the Irradiator along with it
the drain is reduced to only 45 G-Rays per hour.
