Re: [HoE] Lost Colony CCG "Who Cares!"
| I'm not putting Pinnacle Down Hear or anything but Am I the only one who
| things they should have put out the Lost Colony RPG before the CCG.
| Personally I don't like CCG(I think there just a way to bleed lots of
money
| off wanna be Role Players). I hate to think that the only reason there
| putting the CCG out first is because they want to make more money but I
| can't think of any other reason.
Is that so wrong? As much as we love them, Pinnacle is a business. Shane
may not have started it to get rich, but a business needs to make money, or
it folds.
| Lost Colony RPg has been in development
| since at least right after HOE so they have had 2 long years to get it
| ready.
Not necessarily. "In development" is slightly further along in the process
than "This is coming out in two years." I'd be very surprised if actual
work began on the Lost Colony RPG (or CCG for that matter) before Summer of
'99- probably later. Remember, PEG's big release for '99 was Brave New
World.
| I guess what this insane rant is about is "I WANT MY LOST COLONY RPG
| AND I WANT IT KNOW OR A ATLEAST BY GENCON WHEN IT WAS PROMISED"
Promised by whom? If you're referring to the teasers in the Hell on Earth
core rule book, neither the boxed text on 177, nor the full color advert on
the last page specify an RPG versus a CCG. They just say Lost Colony is
coming in Summer 2000. Which it is- as a CCG.
| I realize
| this won't happen but at least hopefully pinnacle sees this and realize
| everyones not all excited about there CCG's.
Just as not everyone is excited about their RPG's. I know at least a
couple people that are planning to check out the CCG that have no
experience with, or interest in any of the Deadlands RPGs- they love
Doomtown, so they want to see another Deadlands CCG.
For the record, being the PEG goober that I am, I'll be buying both.
Doubtless along with Last Crusade and Fields of Honor. ;)
