I have been working on something similar for a game I hope to get together
soon... I found that just about anything from Rob Zombie works wonders for
"setting the mood." Particularly off Hellbilly Deluxe, and La Sexorcisto. I
mostly used it for "combat" music, but it's good. (though I don't suggest
buying the CD if you don't like Zombie's stuff).

Beyond that,  - "Blackened" - by Metallica off ...And Justice For All
Nine Inch Nails - a good deal off of _The Downward Spiral_  works
Soundtracks like _The Crow_ and _The Matrix_ are pretty good for mood and
combat music.

and I should point out here that Pinnicle has a Hell On Earth CD _Toxic
Tunes_ that's worth picking up as well... (though it's not as good as _Weird
Wailin's_ IMHO).

It's a start anyway...
