Thanks for the response, Darrin. I understand your reasoning and the
math is right on the money. However, I really wasn't referring to the
issue in these terms - I fully appreciate how far 60 yards is. My
problem (apparently similar to Steve's) is with the consistency the new
rules create, I suppose. In my experience part of the fun (and danger)
in using Nuke and similar powers is not knowing quite how effective
they're going to be range wise. With Nuke for example, when you want a
big effect, you don't get it. When you don't want it, you do get it. I
liked the "random" factor of the range, having the Doomie sweat a bit
when he tried to use it (hoping he wouldn't roll up _too_ many times).
Giving it a 60 yard area of effect all the time takes the mystery out of
it - actual damage aside, you always know what you're going to get,
making it easier for a Doomie to plan for. Also, does it make sense
that a low faithed Doomie that can barely get off a Nuke, generating
only the 3d20 blast, get the same range effect on the power as Silas
himself? Bottom line is the new rules radically change one of the
mechanics of the power that IMO made it interesting.

Now in looking at Ground Zero, the new rules take a power that used to
have a minimum effective range of 100 yards (without a raise) and
reducing it to 60 yards. For Ground Zero to be equal with Nuke in terms
of range just doesn't make sense to me. It _should_ have a greater area
of effect (well, OK - at least in my interpretation of it). How much
damage would I realistically expect under these new rules "standing in
the endzone" from GZ? I fully admit, not much. Under the old rules?
What endzone (minimum 4d20)? :-)
At any rate, thanks for the response.
