[HoE] RE: [HOE] Iron Oasis
I've been lurking on the list for a few months and this is the first time
I've felt compelled to join the general discussion. I'll be honest, I
haven't yet had the opportunity to check out Iron Oasis. The gentleman that
owns my local gaming store is a tad under the weather and hasn't had a chance
to make a gaming order recently. Now I could I have drove an extra 20 or 30
minutes and checked out and bought the new releases elsewhere. Hell, I could
have hopped online and ordered it from an web equipped vendor and had it
delivered to my door in 2 - 4 days. But I didn't.
I didn't do that because Pat (the store owner) is a friend. We both run
games together, rotating on a schedule so neither of us get burnt out. I
recently handed over my HoE game so another play could try his hand at
Marshaling. That's what gaming is about. Not maps. Not minatures.
Friendship. fun, and interpersonal interaction. It's also about supporting
you local game store. If we don't they're gonna disappear. So I have to
wait a week or two to get the latest release. Shucks....I'll live.
I'll also carry my argument one step further. You have to support you small
and independant gaming companies, or they too will disappear. So you didn't
get a map. Quit your whining. The list is here for a reason. One of them
is so the developers can get feedback from the consumer. Next time try this,
"Hey Shane, great sourcebook. Only one thing I'd change. I was kinda hoping
for a map. Could you please include one on your website or in some future
product? Thanks in advance."
Now did that hurt? O.K. sermon's over. You can all go about you business.
But if I hear one more whine...I'll sic my horde of harrowed chipmunks after
you ;^D
