As I've mentioned in the past (and at the risk of sounding repetitive),
we've got our own set of house rules for character generation (they're
posted at the Shelter if you're interested), and I do allow one redraw
for stats. The catch is that in order to do so, the player must take an
automatic black joker as one of the stats (drawing one less card for
the next stat draw), and then draw the mutation from the joker off of
Kirt "Loki" Dankmyer's Alternate Mutations Table (it's the one Loki
posted to the list a while ago, designed to be a "middle ground" between
the "minor" mutations in the main book and the "major" ones in COtA - I
really like it). Yes, in my game this means it is "possible" to get the
effects of three jokers (wahoo!). Too nice? Perhaps, but I also put
some limitations on the archetypes that my players can choose. We all
like how it works out.
