Short Answer: The lower the number, the bigger it is
Longer answer: The guage is number of lead spheres the size on the barrel that it would take to
weigh 1 pound. So for a 12 guage shotgun, 12 lead spheres the size of the barrel would weigh one
pond. for a 10 gauge, 10 lead spheres would weigh one pound, so they are bigger.

An extra D6 for each size increase sounds right. So an 8 guage would be 8d6. (Anyone who knows
a lot about shotgun wounds feel free to correct me)

What is a four gauge designed to be used for? Hunting small trucks?
