Yep. The .22-caliber is like that. Only enough energy to punch through
the skull once, then buzzes around inside like an angry bee. It'll keep
ricochetting off the interior skull walls and tearing through the brain
until it's energy is spent. If enough brain matter is destroyed, there's
not enough for the manitou to keep the body reanimated and it'll die
[again].
