[HoE] re: [DL] Where am I going with this
Wow! Thanks everyone for the great suggestions etc as to what to do with my
Wildman character and his "pet" rattler.
Unfortunately, there are no gaming stores left in Auckland that carry
Deadlands stuff, and so I have to buy all my DL books from the Internet. I
usually wait until there are a few, to save on shipping costs, so it'll be a
while until I can get my hands on the Worms Dime Novel, but from peoples
suggestions I can basically guess what the story is.
Anyway, I think I really like the idea a few of you suggested that the
rattlers are attracted to the Wildman because they see him as a prime
candidate to be a wormling breeder. I have this image stuck in my head from
the movie Dune - remember the bit where Paul is standing in the desert and
he's surrounded by all these Sand Worms in a circle around him, all facing
him in the centre? I have to use that for the character somehow :-)
So I think the rattlers will eventually kidnap him to use him for their DNA
crossbreeding, and the wormlings will be the result, then the characters
will have to deal with a wormling plague before it can expand and be a
danger to the whole of the west. Then, while this is looming, I'll drop the
bombshell on them of their last failure (you may remember I talked about
this posse who had gone through the 'ticked off' adventure and exploded the
ghost rock mine and left it burning - well that mine is still burning and
festering and releasing thousands upon thousands of enraged manitou, and
most of Idaho is now a Deadland thanks to them with dead prairie ticks, the
tick queen, and the townsfolk of the nearby town of Greenwood all melded
into one huge undead 'glom as the fearmonger) so they'll have two big issues
to have to deal with :-)
Now, someone suggested the "City of Gloom" boxed set for info on the
rattlers and their plans, which I have, but someone else suggested info from
HOE - Now, I have most of the HOE books, but don't currently play it so have
not read through them for a while. What HOE book has the rattler/wormlings
information?
Thanks again all,
Brian "Wormling food" Leybourne.
