[HoE] PEG's Star Wars (OT)
>How about Star Wars by Pinnacle? ;)
>
Heh heh. Hmmm...let's see:
1) Instead of a poker deck, you'd draw cards from a Sabacc deck.
2) None of the main characters from the movies would be given stats so
players wouldn't go out and kill all the main characters. Sorry, none of
the "We sneak aboard the death star and try to steal Darth Vader's armor so
he'll die" sort of missions.
3) The first set of books would take place during Episodes 4 through 6 and
the books' main color would be a lovely shade of blue and red, the colors of
the Rebellion.
4) The first Big Secret would be the new line of books taking place during
Episodes 1 through 3 and the books' main color would be a devilishly shade
of Phantom Sith red and black.
5) There would be a meeting with George Lucas himself before the books were
even begun where he would tell all the PEG staffers small tidbits of secrets
hidden within all the movies about what was going to happen in future
installments. He would tantalize them with tiny information leaks every so
often. Later it would be found out that if you take every other growl of
Chewbacca in each of the movies and then spell the growl backwards, you
would get words that would give you more hints to future secrets.
6) You would have Player Cells instead of Player Posses and Sith Lords
instead of Marshals. Well, maybe not but imagine the rules you could add.
The GM could spend a Red Force Chip to choke a player. "You are
insignificant when compared to the power of the GM"
7) As hinted at above, Fate Chips become Force Chips and would carry over
very smoothly to the new line of Star Wars products.
8) And just imagine the drooling anticipation for PEG's first sourcebook:
"Jokers and Jedi." Sales would go through the roof.
9) When a character gains 5 Grit (hmm...or Spunk points?), the GM pays him
a little visit from a notorius bounty hunter that never fails.
10) If the group of players ever end up with 5 Dark Side Chips in their
pot, they all turn to the Dark Side.
*sigh*, PEG should have went after this license harder using all its
enormous pull (don't laugh) in the RPG industry. The possibilities are
endless when PEG introduces you to their newest addition to their successful
Deadlands line with Deadlands:Star Wars. And yes, the rubble of Alderaan
would be considered a Deadland.
