I figured that too, but some of the images just dont wok as armor, in
particular the hip joints are not right for a person in armor. And the light
can isn't wearing armor on just one arm, that would be stupid.
I don't have the book here, but I think the artists have gone for really cool
artwork over strict accordance with the sourcebook.. Which is fine by me, I
think the cans look cool. as they are.. otherwise they would just look like
people with lot of guns.

IIRC none of the archetypes have any cyborg limbs.
My take on it is limbs are only used as replacments for lost ones.
