Sure,
I coud whip out some root beer or sasparilla in my backyard but that doesn't
make
it "soda". In this context "soda" is very rare after 13 years. And as such
is a
 valuable commodity. >>
If it looks like "soda", smells like "soda" and tastes like "soda". It's
soda! Granted, Dr. Pepper is the exception. Also, as I've learned as a
full-time antiques dealer, rarity does not equal value, Demand is what causes
an increase in price. If folks can buy Hals Ho-made Orange-ade for short
money, they're not gonna step up and pay big bucks for a "luxury item" of a
13 year old tinny flavored Fanta. I'm sure some folks would pay for pre-war
soda once it in a while, and a very few folks would buy it whenever they
could. But the demand would be slight, price would be lower. Supply and
demand is what creates value, not age.
