My Marshal did the same the other day. He used one of our player
characters from Weird West. The same player character that had inherited
a strange looking necklace. Turns out it's kind of like it had the hex
"Old-Timer" permanently cast on it. As long as it was worn, it
drastically retarded the characters aging process. As it so happens, the
character in question was the Irish Brawler [who killed a bear with his
bare hands (really!) and also was the one that pummeled the Terrible
Kansas Sh!thouse Monster to death]. We'd run into him a couple times,
while he was disguising his accent. The only name he gave us was Justin
[the character's real name is Patrick Flynn.] After we recovered some of
his personal items from a stash in a cave which was located right inside
a Black Hat outpost [including three relics. The tongue of the Southern
Merchant ("Sebastian Davis. Who could lease ice to Eskimos."), the heart
of the Bounty Hunter ("Joe Griffin. I'd never met a man with a bigger
heart and haven't since.") and the brain of my Mad Scientist ("Doctor
Ephraim Green. A scientist of unparalleled intellect.") There's just
something oddly cool about having your Weird West characters body parts
become relics ;] he dropped the accent and explained the items to us
[whilst the Junker tinkered with his Rogue Automoton (!), the appearance
of which almost triggered another big fight, since the Doomie
immediately started powering up ICBM.]
Then we noticed that he had an accent. He explained that he changed his
name a while ago, when it appeared that he wasn't getting any older. So,
he decided to become "Justin the Mick of Time." ;]
Our Marshal's got a thing for bad puns.
