They have to start as a Greenie, but yes, the Syker SB allows it.

As should come as no surprise to some, the Templar in question is a Greenie. 
  :)  On the other hand, he has a lovely role-playing justification for it.  
Doncha just love min/maxers who are _also_ excellent role-players?  :)
