sorry to jump into this discussion- but I would have to disagree with that 
statement.  When Killer Tomatoes came out I believe it was attempting to be a 
horror film with comedic undertones but was really just unfunny.  If you say 
that Killer Tomatoes was a camp film then really any movie shown on Comedy 
Central (except Ferris Beuler and Better Off Dead of course) would be camp.  
My opinion on camp is that camp (at least good camp) draw two emotions from a 
person at once- one being a general feeling of something and an equal to 
slightly greater reaction of "I can't believe I'm hearing this".  For 
example, take John Water's film Pecker (we can agree that Waters is a master 
of camp, right?)- at the same moment I feel pity for the characters who live 
such dreadful lives but also I cant help but laugh when the Grandmother talks 
to the Virgin Mary.  I doubt Killer Tomatoes brought about dual emotions in 
you, outside of maybe pity for the actors themselves for having to be in the 
film.
