[HoE] Cars n' HoE

I've had two actual Road Warriors. Three if you want to include a
really overconfident Junker with a car browser. Everything I've run has
been in and around the American South West, centering around the Arizona
area.

We've got ten (ack!) people playing right now. The current (living)
characters are three Doomsayers, two Junkers (one gun and one vehicle
oriented), a Psyker, a Templar, a Ravenite and a Savage. One of the
Doomsayers and the Savage are both Kids (a popular hindrance with our
group) and another one of the Doomsayers is Harrowed. The tenth player
(whose character died this past Sunday...again) likes playing really
odd-ball stuff. He was playing a thief based on Sean Connery's
character from "Entrapment"...which just didn't quite translate into the
HoE setting. Now he wants to play a sentient St. Bernard (visions of
bad Lassie episodes are running through my head - I can't see how he
plans on making this work). As you might guess, he's not always the
most useful person in the posse, but he does supply great (if at some
times exasperating) comedy relief.

Yep. We do that too when its appropriate. I just look at it as another
way to get chips away from the players - I don't mind a bit. I just
make them role-play how they are avoiding the damage as usual (sudden
swerve to the left, the armor plating held up better than expected,
whatever). If they can think of no plausible way for the damage to have
been avoided, they can't spend the chips.
