And the advanced tech that Car Wars has actually makes more sense for the era
of HOE than what's in Road Warriors, really. Tho in HOE you don't have the
"military grade weapons in the hands of civilians" (at least, not until after
the bomb), so all that stuff is arguablably military tech to begin with.

Also, if you look at the rules for vehicle combat in HOE, the whole "5
segment" system, plus the way vehicles move, is pretty much a HOE version of
the modern (post _Car Wars Compendium_) Car Wars rules. Adapting the rules
shouldn't be that hard, really, especially if you can dig up the old Car Wars
"Chassis and Crossbow" rules, which has weapons mounts and weapons similar to
the ones in HOE, which should give you a good spot for convesions between the
two systems.

The biggest problem, IMHO, Car Wars style ablative armor, but if you treat it
like a huge amount of Light Armor that goes away when you hit it... Hmmm...
