[HoE] Re: They Live (spoilers)

The recent posts on this movie got me thinking, but I suppose I'm too 
pedestrian.  I keep coming back to something a little more in line with the 
original film.

Those who have read the Marshal's sections know what Raven is doing.  Well, 
he's also doing some recon work west of the Miss, using walking dead that 
have an illusion to keep them from being spotted -- that little orphan waif 
that you rescued a few weeks back is really a mobile worm feast there to spy 
on the towns you are travelling thru.

It starts with a small group of survivors on the other side of the river 
running from an overpowering force of walking dead.  Three of the group load 
boxes into a boat and cast off while the others fight off their attackers.  
By the time the three have cast off, the others are dead and the undead horde 
narrowly miss catching them.  Then, in the finest B movie tradition, just as 
they appear to be safe skeletal arms reach up from beneath the waters and tip 
the boat over.  The men in the boat are pulled under the surface, but some of 
the boxes float down-river.

The next day, one of the boxes is found washed up along the bank of the 
river.  It contains 3 dozen pairs of sunglasses, which when worn allow a 
character to see thru Raven's illusion on the walking dead.  Any character 
who picks up a pair of these suddenly finds walking dead showing up all over 
the place.  Unfortunately for them, the illusion will last up to a week after 
the undead spy is destroyed so it appears to everyone else they've simply 
gone over the edge.  Hopefully the poor sod can convince someone to try on 
the glasses before a group of the maggot-mobiles gets them lynched.

The posse could either witness the fight on the river, or simply have someone 
trade for or find a pair of the glasses.  In the latter case you could have 
them contacted by a member of the river watch who witnessed the fight,  or 
just let them try to figure it out themselves.
