[HoE] Doombringer & Templar Campaign possible minor spoilers
Since its a slow nigyht on the list I figured I would update you on my
Doombringer & Templar back in time campaign. Thanks to everyone who has
helped me so far it gave me some very useful ideas. Again i would love
to hear your ideas. I have 2 weeks to plan since my posse is in school
and is on spring break, so i would love feedback so I can make this as
cool as possible. They just arrived in New Orleans and are on there way
to Denver. I would love to hear a non plot related side track for New
Orleans. I have heard good things about the tick adventure I think from
DkNukem's site? could someone give me the link for his site. I know
this could be on the deadlands listserv, but most of the questions I
have are HOE related, and some people on there don't want any
spoilers(even that the reckoners won!) on HOE, so I am posting it here.
Besides you all have been helpful with it already.
There might possibly be some minor spoilers, but I don't think anything
major
Silas gathered a bunch of his best doom sayers together and gathered
enough energy from
the glow to send back in time a single doombringer(not sure maybe some
other high level doom
sayer baddie) He is being sent back in time to form a cult in the past
and establish some
strongholds in the past, so when the future occurs they will be in a
better position to rule
the West. His goal is to establish strongholds in Denver, Las Vegas, and
Yuma. the first 2
should be pretty obvious why Silas would want strong holds there and
Yuma is just from an in
joke about Yuma. Our group always jokes about it, but has never been
there. Also I know
Las Vegas wasn't established yet but if any of my group is smart enough
to figure that out I
will just remind them that this is a different timeline than real life.
The Doombringer is going to bring several Elixirs of change with him and
several ghost lamps.
He will use the elixirs to turn members of an existing cult into
mutants, and then teach them the ways
of the glow. <evil laugh> They are gonna have black magic and doomsayer
miracles</evil laugh>
A Templar woman got wind of this and managed to find one of Joan's
doomsayers. The doomsayers
gathered togther to send one of their own after the doombringer, but the
Templar insisted on
being the one who was sent back in time(don't ask why. I just like
Templars and already
introduced her to the posse so its too late to change it.) They gather
up th energies of the
glow and send her back.
Now here's the part I am wondering about. I was thinking that the
doomsayers would know about
doombringers only being able to be put down by a doomsayer, so they have
given the templar a
"gift" a couple of doomstones(or should it be just one). Question is
how can she store them
without being affected by the radiation. Is there a container she could
use a ghost lamp
with padding in the inside, or should i just be cruel and have her
holding it in an ordinary
pouch, so she and the posse have a chance to gain mutations? It would
be fun to see the posse realize
they are getting mutated by the doomstone.
I am also thinking of giving her a Lightsaber that a junker friend gave
to her. Thanks to
the dead man walkin website and Scott Hacker for the idea. It has
supernatural damage
ability, so she could put down the Doombringer with that.
