[HoE] A few minor questions...
Evenin' all - just a few points that I would like clarified...
1) Is a Templar's sword considered magical? There are a few points in the text of the
main rulebook where it is implied that they are, such as the Templar section where it
refers to "Simon's blessing", but it isn't explicitly stated anywhere...
2) I just got CotA, and one of my players took MIRV - my question is what happens
when all of the bolts are aimed at one target? The reason I ask this is that I ran
the adventure in the back of that book (which I found so-so) and (I don't think I'm
giving anything away here) the player in question launched a MIRV at one target,
called shot to the guts, got 2 raises (not all that uncommon with 5d12 faith), and
proceeded to do five lots of 3d10 to the hapless target. All to the guts.
After the adventure, we agreed that if he did something like that again, we'd do the
bolts sort of like auto fire in terms of hit location, i.e. first bolt can be called,
all others randomised. I'm now thinking that maybe I should go the whole hog and make
it exactly like autofire, i.e. if you're firing all 5 bolts at one target, then you
need to get four raises for all of them to hit, and only raises above that increase
damage codes or something...
Any suggestions?
And on a side note - I'm sorry, but I can't remember who wrote in about the Templar
who ran a savage through and left him to die, but something that should be remembered
is the 5-point oath, which while we don't have it word for word yet, does mention
compassion and abuse of powers. (I think the Oath of Blood - correct me if I'm wrong,
but I know that compassion is mentioned somewhere with the Templars, and not in the
context of "They don't have any...") If any other Templars hear about his actions (as
well they might, seeing as the savage survived) he should at least, IMHO, be asked to
account for his actions in front of Simon - and no offence to the guy who's playing
the templar, but his explanation of why he did it sort of failed miserably, at least
in my book...
anyway, YMMV etc.
Nick.
