I think that if Doomsayers went back in time they would lose thier powers.
In the past there would be no radiation (comparativly). The Doomsayers would
know how to cast their miracles, they just wouldn't have the juice to get them
to happen. Now, if the Silas decided to

get a bunch of powerful muties together and work up the energy to send an
intelligent spy back in time. Said spy could pass along useful 'future'
information, amass a fortune for the cult, or even go to Las Vegas and 'set
things up'. Maybe Lost Vegas is the cult headquarters for that very reason!
Plus think of all the unique tortures you could put a posse through..."You
see the spy! He just ran into the same shopping mall as your great
grandparents!" "You see the mail truck pull away. As you watch the letter
the fiend wrote is on it's way to Denver. Now Dr. Hellstrom will have
everything he needs to complete his research on irradiated ghost rock."
