I would add that if the damage bonus of a weapon is ever reduced to zero by
armor, all damage is negated.

Take the above example, except where the target has Armor 2.  The disc's
damage first to 1d4 (lowering die type by one).  At this point, since there
are no lower die types than d4, we must lower the number of dice- 1d4
becomes 0d4.  Once we hit 0 dice, all damage- even damage that would have
been done by strength alone- is negated.
