I've been incredibly impressed with the usefulness of the Convoy information
in Road Warriors. It gave me a feel for the world that I hadn't been fully
able to grasp to this point. (and just in time... our campaign starts
tomorrow!)
As far as the vehicular combat rules go, they seem pretty straightforward,
but I have not tested them yet.
You could almost look at them as Car Wars Light, but with Deadlands mechanics.

It's not scary at all... in fact, some of my most enjoyable fiction reading
has been reading role-playing rulebooks... (Shadowrun is great for that)
I probably own 20-25 different role-playing systems that I have no intention
of ever playing, but don't regret a single purchase.
