[HoE] Better living through non-violence...
I came up with some Non-lethal weapons for a Junker of mine. Let me know
what you think.
Non-lethal Weapons to Protect the Things You Love

In my youth I had no need to protect my belongings, but as a quaint
associate of mine pointed out, "Times have changed!" What a grasp of the
obvious, but I digress. In the modern day life of a survivor of the Last War
one needs to make sure that some hooligan doesn't try to make off with the
little a person has. Of course, being a humanitarian I abhor the killing of
another (even mutated) human. So, using my vast knowledge of all things
scientific and "supernatural" I have invented several useful yet non-lethal
weapons and other devices to protect my inventory and self.
Knockout Bolts
Drain: 1 GR
These very special crossbow bolts where designed to render a target
harmless when struck. This bolt needs a special recharger unit, such as the
Charger Crossbow. Most people would scoff at the look of these bolts, being
a normal bolt with a spark plug for a head. When this bolt strikes a target
it discharges 1d20 spiritual wind damage, leaving even the most rugged
survivor reeling if not unconscious. For the purposes of "supernatural"
creature (including Harrowed) suffer this wind damage to determine if they
are rendered unconscious.
Snare Bolts
Drain: N/A
These very special crossbow bolts where designed to render a target
harmless when struck. This bolt needs a special recharger unit, such as the
Charger Crossbow. These bolt a peer normal to the eye except for the round
ball-like head. They are built with four thin nylon piano wires wound (each
around 10 feet long) tightly inside. When the bolt hits a target the head
splits into four (each head attached to one of the wires) winding around the
target and snaring her/him. To get lose the 4 action cards cutting each wire
or make an Incredible (11) Strength roll.
EMP Bolts
Drain: 1 GR
These very special crossbow bolts where designed to render an electronic
target harmless when struck. This bolt needs a special recharger unit, such
as the Charger Crossbow. These bolts look almost identical to a Knockout
Bolt but is built slightly different inside. A small piece of Ghost Rock is
built inside (about 1/10 of an ounce). When the bolt strikes a target it
lets out a small EMP blast knocking out any electronics in a 10-foot radius.
Because of the very small explosion the bolt is destroyed, unlike most of
the special Charger Crossbow Bolts.
Charger Crossbow
Drain: 1 GR/shot
A Charger Crossbow is not a self-contained unit but one part of a
self-defense weapon. As stated above, these crossbow charges a bolt with the
energy needed to use the specific ability the bolt has. The crossbow looks,
to the average person, like a normal crossbow produced by some nameless
sports company before the Last War, but the once solid rifle-like butt of
the device has been hollowed out. This has been done to make room for a
"Spirit Battery." The simple act of drawing the string back opens a circuit
that when a specially made bolt (one of the few above) is put in place, it
is charged. At this point, one charge is transferred to the bolt and ready
to fire. Once the bolt is fired the crossbow is ready to be used again. It
must be noted that once a bolt is charged, the charge stays in the bolt
until used. If the bolt is not fired the charge stays in the bolt.
