Do you want him to have that gadget?

Then give it to him for free.

Then charge him.

Make him come up for a good excuse of how he got it, and why it hasn't been
used to shoot muties or something in the meantime (i.e., the stock is
broken, so it's uncomfortable to fire as well as inaccurate, but mounted it
can fire fine).
