Lead isn't propelled by magnetic fields, which the gun uses. You could use
lead bullets jacketed in steel, but the damage would probably be less than
the listed damage since the bullet doesn't weight near as much as a DU
round does (though, since it is the same force propelling it forward, it
should travel faster, arg... I hate mental physics. Well, okay I like
mental physics, but not when I have such a headache).

Since they were all manufactured by Hellstromme Industries, I would say so.
I don't think Throckmorton went and re-tooled everything after he took
over. Of course, you couldn't switch rifle bullets into a pistol or vice
versa.
