okay - remember the recent thread over the renegade blackhats headbanger 
chip & whether he could use Combine chipped equipment ?

and my reponse was, well... fairly negative.

okay, really negative

alright - i said 
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

well, erm....... i mentioned this to shane in a mail recently, and 
erm...welll.... i was wrong. dead wrong. oops

the conversation went like this..

<Shane> Btw, as for the renegade Black Hat, his chip does still work! Of 
course it won't do anyone else any good.

<Pete> doesn't that give the archetype one hell of an advantage ? your 
saying he can use chipped gear - sounds pretty hot to me ! then again - 
he's got one hell of an enemy too - & Throckmorton ain't gonna take too 
kindly to a renegade running around. cue Raptor hehe

<Shane> Yes, it is powerful, but again, he has to kill Black Hats to 
make it work, and renegades would definitely be high on the hit list for 
local platoons.
