Point of order - Darius is the premire mad scientist in the Weird West and
also happens to be a popular Iranian name.

Darious is the guy who keeps the accumulated rulings off of the listserv.  :-)

Both names are variations on the name of one of the most powerful Persian
kings. (Darius being the more common Western usage).  Persian Darius's main
claim to fame in Western Civ is that he's the guy that Alexander the Great
jackbooted all over Persia.  But aside from that minor hitch in his reign,
he also did the standard cool ruler things - monuments, etc. etc.

Just a trivia lesson for ya.
