RE: [HoE] [LC] Lost colony setting
Actually, I think that a space exploration/colonization would fit the
western theme perfectly. Just make sure that communication technology is
far exceeded by the spaceward expansion, and there you go. You'd also have
to make space travel much more affordable, at least enough so most
corporations could do it and not just governments. Other than that, it
seems perfect.
Back East: Earth, or the home planet
Cowpoke: rocket jockey, space pilot, transport captain bringing exotic
resources Back East
Railroad Barons: Tunnel Owners, ship owners, transport conglomerates, etc.
Indians: low-tech aliens
Train Depot: space Tunnel

Well, from what it appears to be, is just the one planet. Hellstromme's
Tunnel only went to
Faraway, so there isn't much interstellar potential for it.
I look at it this way: the 'space movement' could be compared to
Imperialism/Colonialism, but the
Lost Colony situation looks at one colony in the world, just as the West was
like one area of
expansion in it's time. I think a Space Opera would be neat, but I don't
think it would fit the
'western' theme as well.
