Howdy!
Has anyone ever seen this old movie? I think the premise of it would make
an excellent artifact for the Weird West, though I am not sure how to stat it
out.
In the movie, Jimmy Steward
is an ace marksman in a Dodge City shooting match where the prize is a
Winchester '73 -- matter of fact, the first one. He wins the contest, and
receives the rifle. However, when he gets back to his room, he is beaten
and robbed of the Winchester '73. There is a catch: it seems no one can keep the
Winchester for long, the original thief has to sell it to a man supplying the
Indians with guns. The Indian trader then looses it to an Idian brave, who
looses it to the US army, etc.
Oh, and their is another catch, anyone who comes
into possession of the Winchester '73 who is not the rifle's proper owner
dies. The Indian trader looses it and his life to an Indian brave, the
Indian brave is killed in battle and the rifle is handed off to a passing man
who helped the Army, etc.
So, how would you stat out
the first ever Winchester '73? (I should note that eventually it did make its
way back to the Jimmy Steward Character.) |
