Let me add one thing that I think gets forgotten by some people.
YOU ARE PLAYING THIS GAME TO HAVE FUN.    Pardon the all caps, but I"ve  
played in too many games where GM's get side tracked by rule books that say 
something that just doesn't cover the current situation.  I would suggest 
just "go with the flow" and see how it goes.  As long as everybody 
(including you) leaves the table feeling like they've had a good time, 
you've done your job.
